We followed the looper, Mara Beel, into Charleston, S.C. on Tuesday the 4th of April.  We needed a good port to hunker down for a big blow.  Took a slip for 4 nights at the Charleston City Marina.  It's known for the Mega dock.  Huge, just huge, takes us 10 minutes to walk to shore from our boat.

Mara Beel, who we were following to Charleston, S.C.  They continued on to a different marina.

Approaching the marina, we were impressed with the huge yachts and sailboats at dock.

You can see the Mega Dock running under the bridge in this Google Maps...

Philip Simmons Ironwork

Philip Simmons (1912-2009) was a master blacksmith.  He started at the age of 13 and became known as "Keeper of the Gate" because Charleston is literally decorated with his work.

Yellow Jessamine

Yellow Jessamine is the official state flower of South Carolina.  We are still amazed to see flowers blooming in March/April.
