Heading to the Chesapeake via Norfolk, Virginia...

We walked through about 6 big boat building like this dark and dreary one before we could reach an exit...on our way to our boats.  The only spot for us at Atlantic Yacht Basin Marina was way in the back.  No water and no power, but not free.  😐

Off the river and behind Atlantic Yacht Basin.

One of the boats docked on the wall, with electric and water, at Atlantic Yacht Basin...

Gotta love the wood trimmed windows...

Could we be in Norfolk, Virginia???

Yup!

This tug had a "hell of a leak"...

Docks at Norfolk, VA

Norfolk cruise boat...

Getting ready to push this one in...
Made a call on the vhf and the captain of this vessel said that he'd be make a hard left and to stay to the reds...
Here's looking at it's side....open for some reason...

That was a lot of steel...

The Waterway Guide stated if you get too close or take to many pictures you might get boarded and searched.  As you can see we took a lot of pictures, but were not boarded.  Thank you.

This is Fort Wool and the beginning of the bridge tunnel.
Fort Wool was a seacoast fortification.  Take a look at the history of this fort.  It was originally built after the War of 1812 and used in the Civil War, WWI and WWII.
The Bridge-Tunnel is 3.5 miles long.  We motored over a road!  Really weird.  We watched many trucks and cars drive out to the island and then disappear.

Arrived at Salt Pond Marine and this is the dock hand they sent out...
Grab a line Mr. Frog...
We are now in the Chesapeake Bay!  Beautiful, clean marina.  A good start to the Bay area.
