Our day of fishing on the Gulf yielded nothing....

I put on a slide diver and let out a little too much line and caught the bottom...
We put the engine in neutral, Joell pulled in the two other lines and turned the boat around and we were able to get it to release without issue...

Even though we hooked the bottom the Penn reel preformed great..

Yet another boat sunk just off of the ICW

Our anchorage for one evening at Stump Pass with three other boats..

This was the coolest swing bridge....We didn't have to wait with our antennas down...

Pelicans we scared up with the dinghy...

This is an Osprey nest...

up close... the Osprey comes and goes...mostly goes...

Our anchorage in Pelican Bay, near Cayo Costa State Park, last evening and tonight...  super secluded...

We named this sandbar "shell beach"....

Shells, shells and more shells...

This is "Shell Beach".... just before Elwood found a dead fish and rolled in it...
He got a bath when we got back to the boat...

Had to have a Miller while walking on the beach...

Our small collection from the day...

After we got back to the boat we decided to do a little fishing in the cove we were anchored in...
This is a Pompano with the yellow fins....

And this fishie is a Mutton Snapper (we think....)
or some other type of bait fish (which he'll be tonight after the sun goes down...

Friday Evening
November 25th, 2016

We're going out onto the Gulf 6 miles as we head south Saturday morning to try our hand as fishing...

This lure is made by Rapala but it's supersized compared to the ones we use in Wisconsin
This baby is a good 6" long...

Other lures that were recommended...  See the one with 3 hooks in a row?

A diver lure that takes it down to 40'

We picked up a couple of Penn Rod/Reel combos with 30' test installed...

A little bit of Florida below...

Sunset with David after Thanksgiving Dinner on Lido Key

Just before sunset...everyone waiting...

The Red Tide and props are the worst threat towards Manatee's here in Florida...
Here, one is floating and presumed dead...

Evening with Marge and Tom Jeffers

The four of us went to the Moose Club for cocktails and enjoyed the sunset...

Out on the second floor of the Moose Club...

Getting a bit dark...

Tom and Marge then took us to the Swordfish Grill...Super place...

Right next door are the boats that go out and catch the great seafood we enjoyed...

Another fishing boat...

A great time with Marge and Tom.... Thanks for picking us up Marge and Tom, and showing us a wonderful evening...  Mike and Joell

Joell, Mike and Elwood are happy we came in a day early to Sara Bay Marina.... That evening it blew like crazy (19-20mph all night) and we sure didn't want to be anchored out in a bay somewhere...

Right at Sara Bay Marina is a popular local establishment called The Bearded Clam...

Nice selection of different foods and good service...

The menu goes on and on...

Having a beer at the Bearded Clam...

Sunday evening Joell's brother David drove over and picked us up for dinner by his condo... here's the view from his 7th floor condo...nice!

Sunset at David's home!

David, Joell and Mike took a short walk to a restaurant called Owen's Fish Camp...
This is one of the very best places to enjoy the best seafood, service and ambiance.

Here's David and Joell...

Hey, there's Mike

Looking straight up from the bar at Owen's Fish Camp...

The Bar

Here, Joell's hitting on this old guy...

What a fantastic evening we had with David... Thank You David!!!

Fixed or Repaired Daily...
All of a sudden when sliding the heavy glass/pexi door it made all sorts of bad noise...

After going onto Silverton's Ower's Group and searching for this problem we found how to disassemble the sliding door and found the problem...

There are the Tracks, the Train and the Trucks that all either support the door or help it glide easily.... These are the trucks (only two that support that large door) and are both shot, wheels off and ball bearing missing...  Soooo, at $30.00 a Truck I have two on it's way to Joell's brothers home.

Take Care and Thanks for watching our blog!
